29	2022 /29	Dece mber 29	EPDAD Accreditat ion Preparatio n Training	The "Accreditation Preparation Training" organized by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EPDAD) was held online on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, faculty members and administrative staff attended the accreditation preparation meeting held under the guidance of the Accreditation, Academic Evaluation and Quality Coordinatorship. In the training; EPDAD President Prof. Dr. Cemil Öztürk "Overview of EPDAD Program Accreditation", EPDAD Vice President Prof. Dr. Dinçay Köksal "Milestones of Accreditation: Standards, Indicators and Evidence", Prof. Dr. Ayhan Yılmaz "Accreditation Preparations and Self Assessment Report Preparation", Prof. Şafak Oğuz made presentations titled "Applying for Accreditation through ABYS and Creating a Self-Assessment Report". The training program ended with answering the questions of the participants at the end of each session.
28	2022 /28	Dece mber 28	2022 Training of Trainers Program was held in cooperatio n with our faculty.	In collaboration with our Faculty and the Office of Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordination, two online training sessions were held on December 28, 2022, as part of the Train-the-Trainer Program. The first session was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Serkan Abdusselam, a faculty member of the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology and the Director of the Center for Augmented Reality Application and Research. His training was titled Applications of Augmented Reality in Higher Education. The second session continued with the training Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Its Applications, delivered by Dr. Gizem Uyumaz, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Sciences. The program concluded with a Q&A session following each presentation.
27	2022 /27	Dece mber 16	OUR FACULTY'S COUNSELIN G GRADUATES SHARED THEIR OPINIONS, THOUGHTS AND SUGGESTIO NS WITH OUR COUNSELIN G STUDENTS WITH THE ACTIVITY "GİRESUN UNİVERSİTE Sİ PDR GRADUATES	Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Ulaş Kılıç, a faculty member of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling within the Department of Educational Sciences, organized an event titled "Career Route of Giresun University PDR Graduates" in collaboration with the Giresun University Awareness Community. The event was held online on December 16, 2022, between 13:30 and 18:30. During the event, graduates and current students of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Giresun University, who have pursued various career paths, came together to share and gain insights into different professional fields.

Prof. Dr. Bünyamin ÇETİNKAYA and Faculty of Sports Sciences faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kürşad Han Dönmez gave a conference at Giresun Sports High School.	Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya, Head of the Department of Educational Sciences at our faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kürşad Han Dönmez, a faculty member of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, met with students at Giresun Sports High School on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Our professors delivered a seminar on exam anxiety and motivation to young people preparing for university entrance exams.
24	2022 /24	Nove mber 25	ORIENTA TION PROGRA M WAS ORGANIZ ED FOR THE FIRST YEAR STUDENT	An orientation program was held on November 25, 2022, at 15:00 in the Karadeniz Conference Hall with the participation of the lecturers and first-year students of the Department of Primary Education. The program was presented by Dr. Ayşe Dilek Yekeler. Within the scope of the program, first-year students were informed about the academic calendar based on the Giresun University Undergraduate Student Regulations, the curriculum, course selection and registration renewal, course attendance, assessment, examinations, graduation requirements, the opportunities offered by Giresun University, scholarships, and student exchange programs.

Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Aksu, Head of the Department.
22	2022 /22	Nove mber 22	THE ACCREDIT ATION COMMITTE E OF THE DEPARTM ENT OF GUIDANCE AND PSYCHOLO GICAL COUNSELI NG HELD ITS SIXTH MEETING	Within the scope of the Quality and Accreditation processes, the Accreditation Commission of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling convened on November 22, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya, Head of the Department, to evaluate the current stage of the quality and accreditation process and to conduct a situation analysis. The decisions made during the meeting are listed below: a) It was decided that the incomplete arrangements (course syllabi) related to the Bologna Process in the department's course information package should be completed immediately. b) It was decided to review the directives and guidelines for applied courses (such as Community Service Practices, Counseling Practice with Individuals, etc.) and to make the necessary revisions. The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya (Head of Department), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Levent Yaycı, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Ulaş Kılıç, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selda Karadeniz Özbek, Assoc. 21	2022 /21	Nove mber 16	An informative meeting was organized with School Principals and Coordinator s within the scope of FacultySchool Cooperation	On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, a meeting was held at 13:00 at Mithatpaşa Secondary School with the principals and coordinators of the schools involved in the undergraduate and pedagogical formation Teaching Practice processes within the scope of the Faculty-School Cooperation. During the meeting, the following issues were discussed: a) The work and procedures required in the teaching practice processes and how these procedures are or will be carried out, b) The relevant legislation, c) The application of Giresun University Faculty of Education Teaching Practice Guides I and II and Giresun University Faculty of Education Guidance and Psychological Counseling Practices in Schools Guides I and II, d) Identification of problems encountered during the Teaching Practice and Guidance and Psychological Counseling Practices in Schools and suggestions for possible solutions. It was decided that a follow-up meeting would be held no later than the second week of February 2023, with the participation of the relevant school principals, vice principals, and practice teachers who will be involved in the process. The meeting was attended by Ertuğrul Tosunoğlu, Provincial Director of National Education; Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, Dean of the Faculty; Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Aksu and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya; as well as the principals and coordinators of the relevant schools. The meeting, which was highly productive, concluded with mutual expressions of goodwill.

The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ümit Şengül, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Günkut Mesci, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Hasançebi, Assoc. The program outcomes of the Department of Science Education were updated by adding three new items under the “COMPETENCIES” section related to the fields of Independent Working and Taking Responsibility Competency and Learning Competency, as detailed below:

The fourth of the accreditation process information meetings was held with the faculty members of the Department of Educational Sciences, Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling Education.

The Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling convened a meeting on May 9, 2022, to advance work on the accreditation process. The topics discussed and decisions reached during the meeting are summarized as follows:
1.The alignment between learning outcomes and course achievements,
2.Non-exam assessments, in-class activities, diversity in evaluation methods, and staff training related to assessment and evaluation,
3.Strategies to ensure effective cooperation between teachers and psychological counselors at practice schools and faculty and department members, establishing a collaborative foundation for the process, roles assigned to practice coordinators as outlined in the directive, and the organization of periodic meetings to support students’ career and academic development. In line with these discussions, it was decided to establish the following coordinatorships related to the practice courses: Vocational Guidance Practices Coordinatorship, Community Service Practices Coordinatorship,Guidance Practices in Schools Coordinatorship,Individual Psychological Counseling Practices Coordinatorship, and Guidance and Psychological Counseling Seminar Coordinatorship.Additionally, it was agreed to update the course practice guidelines, ensure their distribution to students, faculty members, and teachers at practice schools, and prepare a comprehensive Practice Guide to facilitate effective communication.
4.Regarding the coordinatorships to be established within the scope of the practice courses, the following appointments were made:

An accreditation information meeting was held with the participation of the Dean of our Faculty Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal for the faculty members of the Department of Fine Arts Education, Department of Music Education and Art Education.

On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., an accreditation information meeting was held in classroom A.2.3 for the academic staff of the Music Education and Art Education Departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts Education. The meeting was attended by the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal provided information to the academic staff regarding accreditation, quality, and Bologna processes, and a mutual exchange of ideas was carried out concerning the necessary actions to be taken within these processes.

On April 21, 2022, the Faculty Accreditation Commission was established within the scope of the “Working Procedures and Principles of the Faculty of Education Accreditation Commission”, which was accepted and put into force by the Faculty Board dated April 21, 2022 and numbered 2022/01.

An accreditation information meeting was held for the faculty members of the Primary Education Department, Classroom Teaching and Preschool Education Programs, with the participation of our Dean, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, and Lecturer İsmail Hakkı Tomar.

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., an accreditation information meeting was held in the Karadeniz Conference Hall for the faculty members of the Department of Primary Education, Classroom Teaching and Preschool Education Programs, with the participation of our Dean, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, and Lecturer İsmail Hakkı Tomar. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal and Lecturer İsmail Hakkı Tomar provided information to the faculty members about accreditation, quality, and Bologna processes, and there was a mutual exchange of ideas regarding the necessary steps to be taken in these processes. At the end of the meeting, a Q&A session was held, and the meeting was concluded.

The second of the accreditation process information meetings was held with the faculty members of the Department of Educational Sciences, Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling Education.

The Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling convened on April 18, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. to conduct preliminary work for the Quality-Accreditation process. The decisions taken during the meeting are listed below:
The program’s purpose, mission, and vision were updated. It was unanimously decided that the prepared text would be submitted to the dean's office.
Necessary updates related to the Bologna process (e.g., department foundation, level of qualification, etc.) were made in the course information package of the department.
The program learning outcomes of the department were formulated, and the necessary adjustments were made in the program matrix.
Within the scope of faculty-school collaboration, it was decided to hold regular meetings with the teachers involved in the “Guidance Practices in Schools” course.
It was decided that faculty members of the department would designate office hours for students, include these hours in course schedules, and announce them to students on the Department of Educational Sciences’ webpage.
It was decided that exam schedules would be announced on the Department of Educational Sciences’ webpage.
It was decided to prepare a promotional video for the department.

An information meeting on the accreditation process was held with the faculty members of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Department of Elementary Mathematics Education.

The meeting was held on April 13, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in the Dean's Meeting Room under the chairmanship of the Head of the Department of Mathematics Education, Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin Aksu, with the participation of faculty members from the Department of Mathematics Education. Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, also attended the meeting and provided information to the faculty members regarding the process. The following decisions were taken during the meeting:

It was decided to initiate the accreditation process for the Department of Mathematics Education.
It was decided that all faculty members of the Department of Mathematics Education would be assigned roles in the accreditation process, and that meetings would be held every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the participation of all faculty members.
It was decided that the purpose, vision, and mission of the Department of Mathematics Education would be reviewed and updated during the meeting to be held on April 20, 2022.

An information meeting on the accreditation process was held with the faculty members of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Department of Science Education.

The meeting was held on April 11, 2022, at 11:45 a.m. in classroom A.2.1 under the chairmanship of the Head of the Department of Science Education, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Uzoğlu, with the participation of faculty members from the Department of Science Education. Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şanal, also attended the meeting and provided information to the faculty members regarding the process. The following decisions were taken during the meeting:

It was decided to initiate the accreditation process for the Department of Science Education.
It was decided that all faculty members of the Department of Science Education would be assigned duties within the accreditation process, and that weekly meetings would be held every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with the participation of all faculty members.
It was decided that the program outcomes of the Department of Science Education would be reviewed and finalized by May 15, 2022.

The meeting was held on April 8, 2022, at 14:00 in room A 2.1 of Block A, Faculty of Education, chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya, Head of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling. The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Professor Dr. Mustafa Şanal, attended the meeting and provided information to the academic staff regarding the quality and accreditation process. The following decisions were made during the meeting:

It was decided to initiate the accreditation process for the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling.
It was decided that all academic staff serving in the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling would be actively involved in the accreditation process.
It was decided that the program outcomes documents of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling would be reviewed and prepared by Associate Professor Dr. Levent Yaycı, Associate Professor Dr. Özlem Ulaş, and Assistant Professor Selda Karadeniz.
