Held via Zoom on December 26, 2021, the conference provided insights into reading habits and the shared responsibilities of schools, families, and communities in fostering children's engagement with books. Various reading techniques for reluctant readers were discussed, emphasizing the importance of minimizing digital distractions, dedicating quality time to children, and nurturing their curiosity. The conference also highlighted the unique role of books in supporting children's social, psychomotor, and language development. At the end of the session, high-quality publications suitable for young children were introduced, and parents were advised to avoid pressuring children into reading. Instead, they were encouraged to model enthusiastic reading behaviors, integrating reading into daily life as a natural activity—just as they would introduce healthy eating habits without coercion."

The conference, which began at 14:00 on December 16, 2021, and concluded at 15:00, was attended by a total of 340 high school students from the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades, as well as teacher candidates, teachers, and administrators.
      28 2021/28 December 16 A seminar titled "Approaches to New Generation Questions" was delivered by Lecturer Şenol SANCAK, a faculty member of our university, to 12th-grade students of Giresun Hamdi Bozbağ Anatolian High School on December 16, 2021.       In the seminar, the concept of new generation exam questions was first introduced with examples. Afterward, it was demonstrated, using the normal distribution tables published by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center), how these questions have affected exam results since their implementation. It was stated that the desired level of success in Mathematics and Science subjects has not been achieved in our country historically, and new generation questions have not changed this situation.
      The new generation questions, which are skill-based, layered, and progressive, emphasize attention, understanding, and interpretation. Therefore, the importance of developing a reading habit was highlighted. It was emphasized that while preparing for exams, students should begin by using resources appropriate to their level, such as the skill-based questions published by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and previous exam questions. This approach would help better understand the exam strategy of OSYM.
      Through example questions, it was explained how paragraph-based questions could be solved in less time. The seminar stressed that the key to success in exams lies in planned and regular studying, and that anxiety and stress negatively affect students during exams. It was also advised that students should not struggle with questions during the exam and should use their time effectively. Furthermore, it was pointed out that students should not move on to difficult and progressive questions without having a solid understanding of basic knowledge and without first solving classical questions.
      The seminar, which received great interest, was attended by students, teachers, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Güven ÖZDEM, and the School Principal of Hamdi Bozbağ Anatolian High School, Mr. Azmi BIÇAKÇI.

      26 2021/26 August 11th Evaluation Report on the Implementation Level of the Teaching Practice Course for the Spring Semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year in Giresun Province. The "Regulation on the Teaching Practice of Students in Educational Institutions Affiliated with the Ministry of National Education," which came into effect with the letter of the Ministry of National Education dated 19.06.2018 and numbered 31666252-399-E.11899572, has been implemented in coordination with our Directorate. A report evaluating the implementation level of the aforementioned courses, including numerical data related to their completion, has been prepared.
      25 2021/25 June 18th The "Tree Planting" event, carried out by second-year students as part of the "Community Service" course under the Preschool Education Department, led by Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Özmenli, a faculty member of our Department of Social Studies Education, has been completed in the respective provinces of all participating students.       24 2021/24 June 7 The studies for the "Smart Recycling Machine Project," developed by fourth-year students as part of the "Social Project Development" course led by Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Özmenli, a faculty member of the Department of Social Studies Education, have been completed.       23 2021/23 May 27th Our faculty member from the Department of Educational Sciences, Associate Professor Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya, was a guest at the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Center of the Faculty of Education at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University on May 27, 2021, at 7:00 PM. He delivered a lecture titled "Exam Anxiety and Motivation / Life is an Exam" to university students. Our faculty member from the Department of Educational Sciences, Associate Professor Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya, was a guest at the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Center of the Faculty of Education at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University on May 27, 2021, at 7:00 PM. He delivered a lecture titled "Exam Anxiety and Motivation / Life is an Exam" to university students. The conference, attended by the Vice Rector, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, and the Head of the Department of Educational Sciences at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, lasted for two hours and concluded with a Q&A session. At the end of the conference, a certificate for planting six trees in Hatay was presented in honor of our professor.

Our faculty member from the Department of Educational Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Bünyamin Çetinkaya, was a guest on a program titled "World Happiness Day" on TRT Trabzon Radio on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 11:40 AM. During the program, he discussed the concept of happiness from social, psychological, and cultural perspectives. He also addressed the impact of COVID-19 on people's happiness, making comparisons between the pre- and post-COVID-19 periods, and concluded his speech by examining this relationship.

The Unit Self-Assessment Commission of our faculty completed the Faculty's Unit Self-Assessment Report (BÖDR) during the meeting held on Thursday, March 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM, and submitted the report to the Dean's Office.

      9 2021/09 March 01-06 The project supported by TÜBİTAK 2237-A 2020/3, led by Associate Professor Dr. Necla DÖNMEZ USTA, was successfully carried out online between March 1 and March 6, 2021. The project, titled "Development and Design of Interactive Teaching Materials Suitable for the New World Order," involved 30 science education teacher candidates from different universities across Turkey, who were trained by 15 expert instructors in the field. At the end of the project, the teacher candidates had the opportunity to design and develop interactive teaching materials suitable for the new world order before starting their professional careers. This experience allowed them to begin their careers with expertise in this area.

The fourth meeting for the preparation of the Unit Self-Assessment Report was held online on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM. During the meeting, work continued on drafting the report, and discussions were held regarding the texts to be included and the evidence related to these texts. Requested corrections were made to the report, and work continued on its writing. Based on these corrections, it was decided that additional evidence would be included, and the report would be completed and submitted in its final form to the Dean's Office.

Our faculty member from the Department of Educational Sciences, Associate Professor Dr. Levent YAYCI, delivered a seminar on "Adolescent Psychology and Approaches" on March 2, 2021, to approximately 1200 employees of the Giresun Provincial Mufti's Office in Giresun city and its districts. The seminar addressed adolescence from a bio-psycho-social perspective, and an interactive process was followed, with participants' questions being answered.

      5 2021/05 February 25 Our Unit Quality Commttee held the third session of the writing process for the "2020 Unit Self-Assessment Report." Our Unit Quality Committee held an online meeting on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 2:00 PM. During the meeting, the writing of our Faculty's Unit Self-Assessment Report continued, and discussions were held regarding the texts to be included in the report and the evidence related to these texts. Work on the report continued, with decisions made to complete it by adding new evidence, and it was agreed that the final version would be submitted to the Dean's Office.
      4 2021/04 February 18 Our Unit Quality Committee held the second session of the writing process for the "2020 Unit Self-Assessment Report." On Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 14:00, our Unit Quality Committee met in Classroom A.2.4. of our Faculty to continue the writing process of the "2020 Unit Self-Assessment Report." During the meeting, coordinated by our Commission Member, Associate Professor Dr. Fatmanur ÖZEN, efforts were focused on writing, revising, and adding evidence for the report. It was decided that the next meeting would be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 14:00, also in Classroom A.2.4. The meeting was concluded with this decision.

Associate Professor Dr. Fatmanur ÖZEN, a faculty member of the Department of Educational Sciences, Educational Management Program, participated as a speaker in the online seminar program titled "Professional Ethics in Teaching," organized by the Giresun Provincial Directorate of National Education on Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

During the meeting, the preparation and evaluation of the 2020 Unit Self-Assessment Report were discussed. The meeting was attended by the student representative of the commission, and representatives from our University's Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordination delivered an informative presentation to our commission.
