The Academic Data Management System (UNİS), which consolidates our university's data on academic publications, projects, citations, and activities under a single umbrella, has been launched at unis.giresun.edu.tr.

Established as a "guided project" under the auspices of the Giresun University Accreditation, Academic Evaluation, and Quality Coordination Office and the Scientific Research Projects unit, the system aggregates records that were previously scattered across various national and international databases—such as YÖKSİS, ORCID, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Consequently, the publications, projects, patents, citations, h-indices, awards, thesis supervisions, and administrative duties of our faculty members are made visible on a single platform.

The profile pages created for each academician consist of sections titled Academic Summary, Academic Works, Chronological CV, and Impact & Recognition, and are published publicly. The system also features a search infrastructure that allows for specific queries regarding academicians, publications, projects, intellectual property, awards, theses, and artistic activities, as well as unit-specific pages that provide an aggregate view of academic output at the faculty, institute, and vocational school levels.

The system enables the online submission of academic performance and activity data, facilitates commission evaluations within the same environment, and generates activity and publication reports at both the individual academician and unit levels. Furthermore, it maps publications and projects to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and presents the distribution of research areas according to the classifications of the Inter-University Council (ÜAK), Web of Science, and Scopus. The generated data can be used to monitor research performance, prepare institutional self-evaluation reports, and provide data for university rankings.
