What Is a Double Major?

A double major enables a student who meets the academic requirements to complete the courses of a second degree programme at the University in addition to their primary major. Upon successful completion of the requirements, the student is awarded a second major degree.

What Is a Minor?

A minor enables a student to gain knowledge and competence in a particular field by completing a limited number of courses in addition to their undergraduate programme. A minor certificate, rather than a degree, is awarded upon completion.

What Is the Difference Between a Double Major and a Minor?

A double major enables students to earn a second degree by completing all academic requirements of a second undergraduate programme. It therefore involves a more extensive course load and academic requirements.

A minor enables students to gain additional knowledge and competence in another field of interest by completing a specified number of courses. A minor certificate rather than a degree is awarded upon completion. Neither programme replaces the student's primary major.
